Typical Physical Properties
- Sodium Metabisulfite is a white to slightly yellowish, crystalline powder with a odour of sulfur dioxide. Content of SO2 at least 65%
Application
As preservative in the food industry . As reducing agent in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. As auxiliary for water and sewage treatment. As bleaching agent in the textile and pulp and paper industry. As auxiliary for the film and photographic industry.
Packing
- in pp bag of 25kg net each, with separate inner PE liner (Qty: 25mt/20'FCL)
Store under cool and dry conditions. Stable for 24 months if the storage temperature does not exceed 25 °C and the relative humidity does not exceed 45 %. If higher temperature and/or higher humidity or wide variations in the storage temperature occur: decrease in the SO2 content and the pH of the aqueous solution is possible. The chemical changes may be accompanied by the formation of agglomerates. Agglomerates are also caused by increased pressure - for example if pallets are stacked on top of one another.
